Sister Maureen Fichner S.S.J. is a native of New Jersey and was graduated from St. Joseph the Carpenter School in Roselle, Holy Family Academy in Bayonne, Chestnut Hill College and University of Scranton.

She has been a member of the religious order of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Philadelphia for many years. After serving the community by teaching in four different grade schools in Philadelphia, Sister assumed the position of Principal in St. Philip Neri School in Lafayette Hill, PA for 14 years. Her years in education reflect her love of children and her desire to motivate them to learning.

Organization, discipline, and Love of God are a way of life for Sister Maureen. She desires to instill these characteristics in her students. Concentrating on Religion, Art, Math and Science, Sister has developed a well-rounded foundation of learning.

Family obligations drew Sister back to New Jersey, her original roots in development. She taught Science in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, began the tradition of the Living Rosary and introduced a Student Council during her five years as teacher at Holy Trinity Interparochial School. She has now assumed the leadership of Principal, again.

Her commitment to Catholic education exhibits itself in her serious involvement in the spiritual life of the school community. She will continue to share generously her time, treasure and talent with all the faculty, students, pastors, and people of our united parishes.
