Born in Bridgewater, NJ, Bill graduated with a BS degree in Biochemistry from Rutgers University. He began his first professional job at Merck Research Laboratories in 1988. Over the next 5 years, while working full time, Bill completed the requisite courses at UMDNJ and Rutgers Graduate School to become a pre‑doctoral candidate in Cell Biology and Biochemistry. Bill was accepted into Merck' s Doctoral Study Program granting him a 2 year paid educational leave of absence to complete the residency requirements for earning his Doctoral degree. Upon completion of his Ph.D. in 1994, Bill returned to Merck Research Laboratories where he has made several key contributions to further the understanding of the biology of disease and discovery of new drugs for inflammatory and immunological disorders. Bill has co-authored 20 peer reviewed scientific articles, a book chapter and was co-developer of 2 patents. He has also presented his research findings at several national and international scientific conferences. With 20 years of pharmaceutical research experience, He is presently responsible for guiding new drug development teams through the very complicated drug development process and sheparding new drugs through the FDA and International regulatory approval processes. Bill and his spouse Kerry have been happily married for more than 17 years. They have a daughter, Erin, who is 9 years old and in fourth grade at HTIS as well as a son, Patrick, who is 6 years old and in Kindergarten. Bill enjoys spending time with his family, learning about wine and playing his violin. Bill has been actively involved in the Men's Cornerstone and Journey Retreat ministries and was appointed to the School Advisory Board in November 2005 from St. Helen's Parish where he and his wife are active members.
